3 Most Annoying Smells Found in the Home PDF Print E-mail

There is nothing worse than coming home and being met with a wall of smell that makes you wish you had never left the office. Smell is an often overlooked sense, but it can have a profound impact on our mood and even our health if subjected to the worst kinds of smell. There are many smells which cause us to hold our noses or even leave a room, but there are some which are so common that it is worth noting them and how to combat them.

Fish - Fish is one of those smells that will linger long into the next day after an evening meal of haddock in milk or of kippers cooked on a Sunday afternoon. The smell can be a joy to some while eating, but once it has hung in the air for a long period of time can make some feel nauseous. Best plan to avoid stinking the whole house out is to instead of frying your fish, try grilling it in the oven and eat it outside on a sunny day, thus limiting the amount of time that it is exposed to the air.

Dog - Some dogs smell. Whether they are the cutest puppy or the most well trained border collie in the world, they can be smelly creatures. Rolling in mud and running around for hours they can build quite an aroma and when cooped up in the house all day can allow their smell to seep under doorways and into nostrils. A way to combat this could be to use a plug in air freshener. Set to go off every few hours, may give a small puppy a fright, but will keep their smell in check.

Fun With Fancy Dress Costumes Everywhere PDF Print E-mail

Fancy dress costume parties are fun events that appeal to individuals of all ages. They are enormously fun because there is so much about fancy dress costumes. It is a treat to the imagination. You have to wonder what to go as. When you finally decide, there is the costume to design or hunt through the costume shops for. You also spend all the days following up to the party scanning every random thing around you to see if it would make a great prop to go with your fancy dress. And then at the party itself, there is the excitement at seeing all the other costumes, and how your friends flesh out the character they are playing for the evening event. Of course, you are playing some character yourself and it probably tickles you silly.

But fancy dress costumes are not only trotted out of the closet for costume parties. They are used in movies, and the ones used in movies are very realistic and are accompanied with a lot of makeup and body gear to make an actor look like whatever monster/ alien/ mutant it is that he is supposed to represent in the film. Getting one's hands on these costumes can garner a lot of attention and appreciation from other film aficionados. But it is not at all easy to pick up an original costume that has been used in a film that has been released to the public. Especially famous movies that have become iconic hits like Star Wars, Star Trek, Planet of the Apes, etc. Original costumes from these films become collectors' items that are auctioned off for hundreds or even thousands of dollars.

Plus of course, movies made on that scale become a syndicate of merchandising costumes, toys, mugs, etc off in lieu of marketing for their eagerly waiting consumers and movie viewers and fans.

In search of the best hangover cure and the answer to all our prayers, we have stumbled open some weird hangover cures along the way. From herbal remedies to black magic, we've seen it all. And frankly, we're desperate enough to try them.

From the country that created vending machines that sell panties, leave it to the Japanese to come up with a strange hangover cure. Meet the Umeboshi picked plum. Hungover Japanese people will suck on these sour plums until they dissolve. The idea is that the acid in the umeboshi will break down the alcohol faster. Considering that most Japanese business negotiations happen over sake and whiskey, and Japanese are strong in business, this probably works. I'm going to try it out. Tomorrow morning.

Keepin it Asian, travel back back in time with me to the reign of Genghis Khan. This dude used to eat sheep eyes with a cocktail of brine and tomato juice. Talk about dedication. I wanna roll with that guy! No wonder his crew was so diesel.
